About
The Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism is the principal government agency responsible for promoting, preserving, and developing the state's rich cultural heritage, including Igbo Language and indigenous cultural carnivals.
Our core mandate involves developing state tourism sites to attract both local and foreign tourists and investors; regulating the hospitality sector to ensure proper standardisation; and bridging the gap between the government and its citizens abroad to create businesses, promote trade, and attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through the transfer of necessary skills and knowledge.
We actively partner with communities, the private sector, corporate bodies, and national and international organisations to promote Igbo culture, provide world-class entertainment, and upgrade the tourism and creative sector. Our work spans cultural festival promotion, film industry development, marine tourism exploration, and the transformation of major heritage assets like Ogbunike Cave and Agulu Lake into world-class destinations.
To preserve, promote and develop Anambra State's cultural heritage, tourism assets and creative industries, positioning the state as Nigeria's foremost destination for culture, entertainment and tourism while creating economic opportunities and employment for its people.
To build a vibrant, sustainable and globally recognised cultural and tourism economy that celebrates Anambra's rich heritage, attracts investment, empowers creatives, and contributes meaningfully to the state's economic development.
